I’ll never forget the time my staff said I was expressing lack of trust in them by my micromanaging. Ouch.

I’d never thought of myself that way. Leaders lead, right?

But I had a blind spot.

After that learning experience I began to look at ways that my actions contradicted my values and beliefs.

Once you take stock of things, you might be surprised
how often actions contradict words. You could be sending subtle cues about your true feelings. Or you could be sending nonverbal messages.
